Fried Yams

 

Ingredients:


800 g yam
1-2 tsp salt
1 big size finely grounded fresh ginger
Quart litre vegetable oil
Quart cup of water

 

 

Peel the yams, cut it in half lengthwise, and slice them (about 10 cm in length and breath). Place them in a bowl. Mix the salt and the ginger in water, and pour it over the sliced yams, and mix it. Let it stand for about 12-15 minutes. Heat the oil and fry them (until golden brown) in batches. Drain them on kitchen paper.
Serve garnished with peanuts
